I’d rather this wasn’t just my story
I tried sharing mine in a few places online. It got taken down. I found out later I wasn’t the only one that happened to, which tells you something about how much room there is for this conversation.
So if you’ve been through it, or you’re in the middle of it right now, I’d like to hear it. Not because I need material. Because when I was in it I couldn’t find a single honest account from a man about what it actually felt like, and I’d rather the next guy didn’t have that problem.
Two ways to do this
I interview you and write it up. This is the one I’d suggest. We talk, I take it away and write it in the same voice as everything else here, and you read it before anyone else does. Most people find it easier to talk than to write, especially about this.
You write it yourself. Send it however it comes out. It doesn’t need to be organized or polished. I’ll fix grammar, not voice.
What I promise
- Nothing gets published until you’ve read it and said yes.
- No names. Not yours, not your partner’s, not your clinic’s. I’m anonymous here too.
- You can pull out at any point, including after it’s written.
- If you just want to talk and never publish a word of it, that’s fine. Say so and I won’t ask again.
You don’t need a happy ending to have something worth saying. Ours isn’t finished either.
